If you have fallen ill, or sick, and can't work for Deliveroo as a result then you may be able to claim for a weekly benefit under the 'Temporary total incapacity' benefit (benefit 15).
The insurer will pay 75% of your gross pay from Deliveroo (before tax and National Insurance) income earned from your work with Deliveroo based on your average gross earnings from Deliveroo in the 12 month period before your injury or illness.
There are a few important points to note:
- There is a minimum waiting period of 5 days in respect of accidents and 7 days in respect of illness. This is the minimum amount of time that you must be continuously incapacitated before you are entitled to receive the weekly benefit. No benefit will be paid during this time.
You cannot make an illness claim within the first 30 days from the date the your insurance first started
The maximum benefit period is 26 weeks
- There is a minimum benefit of £25 per week
