What is Forensic Coding?
Forensic Coding is a means of marking property by applying a solution that can be detected by the Garda if a bicycle is stolen or recovered.
The Bikmo DNA+ liquid uses microdot technology reinforced with an authentication compound for increased security.
What are the benefits to using the Bikmo DNA+ Kit?
Our bikes are very important to us and the last thing we want is for them to go missing. As much as we protect them in the house and on the road, thieves may still be able to get hold of your pride and joy.
The warning labels can help deter thieves, and in the event your bikes do get stolen then, if recovered, the microdots can be identified by police and your bike and kit returned to you.
One of the biggest benefits from using the DNA+ system is that you can mark, not only your frame, but key components such as wheels, drivetrain components, handlebars and accessories, all of which can cost nearly as much as the frame. In the event your wheels get parted from your bike, you’ll still be able to identify them as being yours if they get stolen.
Thieves are less likely to steal bikes where it can be proven that they’ve been stolen. The DNA+ kit allows you to apply security markings to your bike/s, to let potential thieves know your bike and components can be traced. Each kit is unique and provides irrefutable proof of ownership of your bike and key components.
What's included in the Bikmo DNA+ Kit?
Your pack will contain:
How to apply the Bikmo DNA+ kit
It’s as easy as dabbing liquid onto any component that you wish to have marked. There’s full instructions in your Bikmo DNA+ pack to show how and where to apply the Bikmo DNA+ liquid.
How is it detected?
Garda use different methods of detection, such as an ultraviolet light, which allows them to detect the presence of the Bikmo DNA+ marking.
The Bikmo DNA+ marking liquid contains uniquely etched microdots. A high-powered microscope is used to read the code from the microdots.
The microdots are automatically registered to you before sending your kit, meaning that you can be identified as the owner of the recovered bike and parts.
