If you break down whilst out riding, and are unable to repair your bike to a safe standard, we will pay for transport up to the value of £150 to get you back to a bike shop, your home, car or the nearest transport link; whichever is closest to your location.
The locations you have the options to get transport to are as follows;
- The nearest suitable bike shop OR
- The most appropriate train station OR
- Your vehicle if it’s nearer OR
- Your home, if it’s nearer than the above.

Whist out riding in the countryside, some spokes on Beryl’s back wheel snapped. She was unable to fix this at the side of the road, was over 15 miles from her car and 20 miles from the nearest station.
Luckily, Beryl had a policy with Bikmo, so she got in touch and was told her travel costs would be covered. She was able to get a taxi back to her car as it was the closest way to help her get home in time for dinner, and all the transport costs were covered by her insurance.

Where can I get transport to?
We will cover transport costs to the nearest suitable bike shop, the most suitable train station, your vehicle if it’s closer than those, or your home if it’s the closest option.
How do I claim the transport costs back?
Wherever possible, notify Bikmo on 01244 470 337 before incurring transport charges, or within 48 hours of the incident if circumstances prevent you from doing so, to log the claim and get approval that the charges can be covered.
Complete our online claims form from within your Bikmo account and, following approval, your chosen bank account will be credited with the transport costs.
