Public Liability cover is there for claims brought against you by other people for damage to their property or bodily injury as a direct result of your ownership or use of your bike.
Accidents can happen in group rides or out on trails where there’s a lot of people, speed and sharp chainrings around, but it could be as simple as not noticing someone stepping out from a parked car whilst commuting to work. Whatever and wherever you ride, it’s there to protect you if things don’t go to plan on your bike.
PUBLIC LIABILITY CASE STUDY
Whilst out cycling on a club ride, Brian had an incident with another rider which caused them both to crash, during which the other rider’s bike was damaged.
Following the incident, Brian got in touch to report the incident. As he contacted Bikmo soon after the incident, the details were fresh in his memory and he was able to give an accurate account of what happened. Submitting photos of the damage and where the accident happened, along with the details he provided, helped substantiate his claim when the other rider made a claim against him.
