Whilst you have a British Cycling bike insurance by Bikmo policy, there are certain events that may require you to contact us. Here's what will happen and the action required at each stage.
Payment
Payment for your premium is taken via the Direct Debit system, and will be taken within 3 working days. If you make a change to your policy, which results in a change to your premium, we can also use this system for the additional payment or refund.
The Direct Debit payments are managed by our underwriters Hiscox, and it will be their name that is shown on your bank statement.

Change of circumstances
There's a couple of changes that you must let us know about, if they occur during the time you're insured with us, as they may affect your eligibility for the policy.
These changes include if:
- you are no longer a resident of the UK;
- you have insurance cancelled, or declined, or refused, or terms applied by another insurance provider;
- you change your address.
You can change your address and insured values at any time from within your Bikmo account, and it's really easy to do - Making changes to your British Cycling bike insurance policy, but you'll need to contact us directly about the others.

Cancellation
We're confident that your British Cycling bike insurance by Bikmo policy represents the most comprehensive and best value cycle insurance product on the market, so we hope you're happy with it.
If you do however wish to cancel your policy for any reason, then please contact the Bikmo team in writing at the following email address, with your reasons for wanting to cancel:

If your request to cancel is within the first 15 days of taking out the policy:
Your policy will be cancelled by the end of the next working day, and you will receive an email to confirm, once cancelled.
A notification to cancel your Direct Debit will be made, with a refund of premium made at the earliest opportunity, provided that no claims have been made.
If your request to cancel is after the 15th day of taking out the policy:
Your policy will be cancelled by the end of the next working day, and you will receive an email to confirm, once cancelled.
A notification to cancel your Direct Debit will be made, with a pro-rata refund of your premium made at the earliest opportunity. However, we will not refund any premium under £10 or if you have made a claim.
Renewal
As a valued customer, and so that you can spend more time riding your bike, we've made renewing with us as easy as possible!
We send out an email a couple of weeks before your renewal date to highlight the benefits of staying with us, including details of any policy discounts you have.
We like to be as clear and transparent with our pricing as possible, so we include all information about the breakdown of our premium in relation to your policy.
Like most things, the RRP of bikes often increase each model update or year. Being underinsured can mean that you don't have enough cover to get a like-for-like replacement if you need to make a claim. To help protect you from this, each year at renewal we will update your insured values.
If you're confident that your bikes are insured at the correct value, then you can opt out of this inflation protection via your email.
If you're happy with your new premium, and we're confident you will be, then you don't have to lift a finger, as it will renew automatically!
If you currently pay for your premium in one lump sum, but have your eye on some nice new kit and would now rather pay monthly (interest-free), just get in touch and we'll change it over for you.
If for any reason you would not like to renew, you can click the link in your email or opt out from auto-renewal from within your Bikmo account at any time.
If you chose to opt out during your policy purchase, we'll still send out a renewal quote for you, just in case you've changed your mind, and you'll be able to opt in again at any time.
