Important
This is not food courier insurance and we cannot provide you with a food courier certificate.
Rider accident insurance does not provide any cover for damage or theft to your property to your bike, scooter, moped or car.
The information below is designed to give you a summary overview of the cover provided. For a full breakdown of each cover benefit, and any exclusions or conditions, we'd recommend you read the full details of insurance which you can find here.
Your cover benefits
The insurance pays you in case you have an accident whilst working with Deliveroo, and you can’t work as a result of your injury.
Riders who have worked with Deliveroo for 2 months or more can claim for up to 23 days and will receive the lesser of:
- £50 per day, or
- 75% of your average income from Deliveroo in the 6 month period before your injury.
Riders who have worked with Deliveroo for less than 2 months can claim for up to 6 days and will receive:
- a fixed rate of £25 per day
For example:
If you've worked with Deliveroo for 3 months and your average income was £50 per day, then you would be paid £37.50 per day for each day you can’t work.
You can also claim for a lump sum payment following an accident, bodily injury or assault. The list of injury types and sums insured is provided in your policy documents available here (see the Table of Benefits section).
If your accident was caused by a third party, and as a result you are involved in a legal dispute, you may be eligible to claim for your legal costs up to £50,000 through your Legal Expenses insurance. This cover is provided free-of-charge as part of your accident insurance. For full terms and conditions, see your policy documents here.
Delivering for other companies (not Deliveroo)
You must work with Deliveroo to be eligible for any benefit under this policy, but working with, or for, any other companies does not void or invalidate your cover whilst you are working for Deliveroo.
I was working as a substitute, am I covered?
Rider accident insurance covers substitutes providing you were working under the account of an active rider and in accordance with their rider supplier agreement. Substitutes can make a claim using the same claim form here.
