When you buy a new Specialized bike from an authorised Specialized retailer, you can sign up for 30 days of free insurance. This covers the basics: theft, vandalism and accidental damage.
Sign up within 30 days of buying your bike. You don’t need to give payment details for the free 30 days.
When the 30 days end, the free cover stops on its own. There’s nothing to cancel. To stay covered, choose a plan before it ends.
For your free 30 days of insurance, scan the Specialized Care QR code in store or on the display material, or follow the free cover link, and complete the short free cover journey.
For a full plan, you’ll find how to sign up on the Specialized Care page.
You sign up yourself. Your retailer can explain the plans, but they can’t sign up for you. Keep your proof of purchase. It shows the date you bought your bike, which decides which plans you can choose.
It depends on how long you’ve had your bike, counted from the day you bought it new:
Protect Total - Up to 90 days after you bought your bike
Protect Plus - Up to 90 days after you bought your bike
Protect - At any time
Wear and Tear has a 3 month waiting period from the day your Protect Total cover starts, so the sooner you choose it, the sooner you can use it.
You need to be 18 or over and live permanently in the UK or Ireland, where your bike is usually kept.
You’ll also be asked a few eligibility questions when you sign up, for example about previous claims or insurance that’s been cancelled. Your bike must be in good condition and full working order when your cover starts.
The price depends on your bike and the plan you choose. You’ll see it before you buy.
