How to Stop Your Policy from Renewing Automatically

September 8, 2023

Simple steps to opt out of auto renewal

If you don’t want your Bikmo policy to renew automatically, it’s quick and easy to turn off auto renewal through your online account.

How to opt out

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Log into your Bikmo account
  2. Click 'Manage Policy'
  3. Select 'Manage Auto Renew'

That's it! We'll take care of the rest.

What happens next?

Once you've turned off auto renewal:

  • Your policy will continue until the end of the current period
  • It won't renew automatically when it expires
  • Your Direct Debit will be cancelled
  • Your cover will end on your policy expiry date

When should I do this?

You can turn off auto renewal at any time. But if you want to stop your policy from renewing, make sure you do it before your renewal date.

We send you an email 30 days before renewal, giving you a reminder if you want to opt out.

What's the difference between this and cancelling?

  • Turning off auto renewal - your policy continues until it expires, then stops
  • Cancelling your policy - ends your policy early, before the expiry date

If you want to stop your policy right away, you’ll need to cancel it. See our article on how to cancel your policy for guidance.

Changed your mind?

If you turn off auto renewal by mistake, don't worry. You can turn it back on again by following the same steps, or contact our customer support team for help.

Still want to be insured?

If you’re turning off auto renewal because your circumstances have changed (for example, you’ve got a new bike), contact us first. We may be able to update your policy so you don’t have to cancel and start a new one.
