Your RACE policy provides cover for theft and accidental damage to your bike anywhere in the world, along with personal accident and public liability cover and full competition racing cover. To get a RACE policy, look for the RACE add-on underneath the PLUS cover level on the quote page.
What your policy covers
Your bike
Your bike is covered if it's:
stolen
accidentally damaged
vandalised
You're covered anywhere in the world for the full value, with no reduction over time.
This includes cover during competitive road, crit and circuit racing events.
Accessories and equipment
You're covered for up to £250 or 10% of your total bike value (whichever is higher) for:
- accessories fixed to your bike (not including mobile phones)
- wearable activity trackers
Clothing
You're covered for up to £250 or 10% of your total bike value for:
- cycling clothing
- helmets and headgear
Returning home
If your bike is stolen or accidentally damaged, we'll pay up to £150 for:
- a taxi home
- public transport home
This does not include getting you back to the UK from abroad.
Bike box
If your bike box is damaged or stolen, it’s covered for up to £500 or 10% of your total bike value.
Hire bike
If your bike is stolen or damaged, we'll pay up to £500 towards hiring a replacement bike while your claim is being processed.
Event fees
If you can't take part in a cycling event, we'll cover up to £1,000 for non-refundable event fees you've already paid.
Legal expenses
You're covered for up to £250,000 in legal expenses.
Public liability
You're covered for up to £2 million if someone makes a claim against you.
Worldwide cover
Your bike is covered anywhere in the world, including when travelling by plane, train or boat.
Personal accident cover
If you're injured in an accident while cycling, you're covered for:
Policies purchased on or after 1 July 2025:
- up to £25,000 for death or serious injury
- up to £6,250 for medical expenses
- up to £3,125 for counselling
- up to £1,250 for dental treatment
- up to £625 for optical treatment
Policies purchased before 1 July 2025:
- up to £20,000 for death or serious injury
- up to £5,000 for medical expenses
- up to £2,500 for counselling
- up to £1,000 for dental treatment
- up to £500 for optical treatment
Making a claim
For claims over £400, you can choose:
- replacement parts sourced from your local bike shop - no excess to pay
- cash payment - with an excess of £40 or 10% of the claim value (whichever is higher)
Who can ride your bike
Everyone living at your home address is covered by your policy. Your bike is also insured when friends and family ride it with your permission.
Using your bike for work
You're covered for:
- riding to and from work
Business use (optional extra)
If you added business use to your policy, you're also covered for:
- riding to work meetings and appointments
You're not covered for:
- deliveries
- courier work
- food delivery
- carrying paying passengers
- hire or reward

Your policy covers you when taking part in all types of racing and events, including:
- road racing
